Homeowners and Students Cooperate in Margate Beach Cleanup

National Honor Society (NHS) students at three local high schools will perform community service in Margate, NJ by helping to clean up the shoreline.  Participants will pick up plastics and other man-made debris to prevent it from polluting our ocean.

The event is sponsored by the Margate Homeowners Association, a community-based group representing both full-time residents and second homeowners.

WHEN:  Saturday June 22, 10 am until noon

WHERE:  The clean-up effort will kick off at Lucy the Elephant.  Students and homeowners will then fan out to beaches along the Margate coastline.  Lucy the Elephant is located at 9200 Atlantic Avenue.

WHO:  NHS students from Atlantic City High School, Mainland Regional High School and Atlantic County Institute of Technology will participate in the event. They will earn community service hours, as required for membership in this selective and prestigious organization for outstanding high school students.
